Free Radio Coventry breakfast presenter JD stood in as Best Man for a listener on Friday, even though he’d never met the couple getting married.
JD and co-host Roisin were having a discussion about weddings and JD mentioned on-air that he had never been a best man before. Leanne, a Free Radio listener, rang the radio station and mentioned that her fiancé’s best man was really, really nervous about performing the allotted duties. So JD offered his assistance.
He did a reading at the ceremony, a best man speech, and even handled the rings. He even had the first dance with the mother of the bride.
Speaking before the wedding, groom Gavin said: “If there’s one thing that is guaranteed about having JD as my best man, is that it’s definitely going to be entertaining.”
