Job for Willie at Radio Forth

Edinburgh solicitor Willie Hunter has been appointed chairman of the trustees of Radio Forth?s Help a Child Appeal while Edinburgh Evening News editor John McLellan joins the board of trustees.

The charity has raised more than ?1.75 million in its 19 year history and champions children with special needs and underprivileged children living in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife.

Mr Hunter is a partner of Hunters-psm and a conveyancing expert with more than 25 years experience in the Edinburgh property market. Mr McLellan rejoined the Evening News as editor last November after editing Scotland on Sunday for two years.

Mr Hunter said: ?A great deal of hard work by everyone at Radio Forth has established HACA as an important local charity and the benefits to children in the Forth region are there for all to see.

?I was particularly impressed by the targets the charity have set themselves for the coming years and they clearly have no intention of resting on their laurels.

?I am delighted to help in whatever way I can and would encourage all listeners to lend their support and local businesses to select HACA as their nominated charity.”

John McLellan added: ?The Radio Forth Help A Child Appeal has been instrumental in improving the lives of hundreds of children over many years and I am honoured to have been asked to become a trustee of the charity.?

Welcoming both appointments, Radio Forth?s managing director, Adam Findlay said: ?Our charity raises more than ?140,000 a year across Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife.

?It is important that those funds are correctly distributed to those causes most needy within Radio Forth?s transmission area and we are delighted to welcome on board both Willie and John who bring with them a great deal of business and commercial experience which will benefit the charity.?
