Global appoints Alex Duncan as new Chief Technology Officer

Alex Duncan has been appointed as Global’s Chief Technology Officer.

She’ll lead a 200-strong team across areas including broadcast engineering, data, ad tech, cyber security and enterprise systems.

Alex will also become a member of Global’s board and report directly to Group CEO, Simon Pitts.

She joins from the British Heart Foundation, where she has served as CTO since 2022. Her focus there included large-scale digital transformation and the use of AI to support the charity’s mission.

Before that, she held senior roles at Ambassador Theatre Group, QVC and lastminute.com.

In the early 2000s, Alex also launched the UK arm of PulseRadio, a streaming station, giving her a longstanding connection with the audio space.

Simon said: “Alex brings over two decades of deep technical expertise, leadership and a real passion for media.”

Alex commented: “This opportunity is a perfect convergence of my early love for radio and my passion for using technology to drive meaningful change.”
