BBC Asian Network Represents returns looking for new presenters
BBC Asian Network is looking for brand-new presenters for the return of Asian Network Represents.
The programme is returning in April after a three-year rest, so the station is looking for 12 brand new, undiscovered voices who live and breathe British Asian culture, music and entertainment.
Finalist will host four Asian Network Represents, which will air every Tuesday, 10pm-11pm, between April this year and March next year. The programme will replace One More Chai as it comes to an end on Tuesday 31st March, after two years.
Ahmed Hussain, Head of Asian Network, says: “Finding the next generation of presenting talent is crucial, not just for Asian Network but for the wider industry.
“There are so many incredible British Asian voices out there and we want to give them the platform, support and space to grow and get paid for it! For everyone who has been asking for the opportunity, this is your chance!
He also thanked Gura and SMASH for their work on One More Chai team and added that he’s sure “they’ll both continue to bring fantastic energy to their weekend shows”.
Applications for this year are open now via the BBC Asian Network website and close at 11.59pm on Thursday 22nd February. Asian Network Represents is open to everyone regardless of experience in radio or podcasts.
