New plans unveiled for the Elis James and John Robins show

The Elis James and John Robins show is adding paid content and video features across multiple platforms.

From today, 7th April, the podcast launches a Patreon channel introducing a new visual monthly series called The Adventures Of Elis and John, featuring activities and challenges with Elis, John and producer Dave Masterman.

Subscribers can access the content through a pay what you can model with three tiers offering identical material, including fully visualised versions of the twice weekly podcast, extra behind the scenes footage, early access to tour tickets and ad free listening.

A dedicated YouTube channel has also been created, where weekly highlights and regular features such as Made Up Games, The Cymru Connection and Mad Dads will be published alongside other promotional clips.

The existing format remains unchanged for listeners who prefer it, with episodes continuing across podcast platforms, on BBC Sounds without adverts, and as a version on BBC Radio 5 Live on Friday afternoons.

The expansion follows the programme’s involvement in the BBC Audio Release Policy, allowing independent producers to commercialise content no longer funded by the licence fee.

Dave Masterman said: “We’re incredibly proud of what the podcast has achieved over the past seven years as a BBC commission, and we’re delighted to now have the opportunity to expand the show further.”
