Jo Verrill to lead Radiocentre clearance team

Radiocentre’s clearance team will be led by Jo Verrill following Yvonne Kintoff’s retirement.

Jo joins the role after becoming an Advertising Clearance Consultant at Radiocentre in October 2025, bringing more than 25 years of media and broadcasting experience.

The team checks radio advertising scripts before they are broadcast, helping stations, advertisers, agencies and production companies comply with the BCAP Code of Broadcast Advertising and the Ofcom Broadcasting Code. It also advises on advertising carried across Radiocentre members’ digital platforms under the CAP Code.

Before joining Radiocentre, Jo worked on regulatory matters for radio, television and streaming organisations including ITV, Samsung, MTV and Clearcast. She was also Head of Compliance at Global, with responsibility for compliance strategy across its national and regional radio brands.

She succeeds Yvonne Kintoff, who is retiring after 30 years with Radiocentre. Yvonne established radio’s first dedicated advertising clearance service, the RACC, in 1996. The service later developed into Radiocentre’s current clearance operation, and Yvonne also oversaw its move into digital audio advertising compliance in 2019.

Radiocentre Chief Executive Matt Payton said: “We’re delighted that Jo will be leading our advertising clearance team. She brings exceptional experience in her field, as well as a broad understanding of the needs of broadcasters, advertisers and agencies.”

Jo said: “I’m delighted to be joining Radiocentre clearance at such an exciting moment of growth and innovation.”
