BYD selects DTS AutoStage for future vehicles

Broadcast radio will be integrated into future BYD vehicles through Xperi’s DTS AutoStage platform.

The system will be BYD’s exclusive in-car media platform across major international markets, including Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.

DTS AutoStage combines broadcast radio with internet-delivered audio services and in-vehicle video entertainment through a single interface. Available features will depend on the vehicle model, region and product configuration.

BYD plans to begin introducing the platform during the fourth quarter of 2026 or earlier, although the companies have not identified which vehicle models will receive it first.

The agreement makes BYD the 14th automotive manufacturer to adopt DTS AutoStage. Xperi says the platform is already available in more than 16 million vehicles across over 150 countries.

Jeff Jury, senior vice president and general manager of immersive entertainment at Xperi, said: “BYD’s adoption of DTS AutoStage reflects our shared commitment to delivering high-quality, intuitive entertainment experiences that delight drivers and passengers.”

BYD said the platform would support its plans to offer audio and video content discovery as it develops its connected vehicle technology.

The manufacturer added: “DTS AutoStage enables us to offer premium audio and video content discovery that aligns with our vision for innovation and connectivity.”
