Minster to air Leeds matches

York-based Minster FM has formed a partnership with Leeds United FC to re-broadcast football reports and commentary from the club's own station Yorkshire Radio.

The deal will see Yorkshire Radio's DAB Digital Radio match-day coverage and commentary, presented by former Leeds player Eddie Gray, available on Minster's FM frequency of 104.7 for the remainder of the 2008/09 season.
The programme runs between 2pm and 6pm on Saturdays and 7pm and 10pm for midweek fixtures.
Yorkshire Radio station director Ben Fry said: "This is an exciting venture with Minster FM. We have already received tremendous feedback to our coverage, which we believe gives the most comprehensive Leeds United coverage and working with Minster FM will help us further enhance our service."
David Green, Programme Controller at Minster FM, said: "We're delighted to enter into this partnership, which brings Leeds United match commentaries to an area which we consider to be heartland of support for the club."
Both Radio Aire and BBC Radio Leeds previously owned rights to Leeds United commentary but the club has held back the rights in recent years in favour of its own in-house station. Yorkshire Radio [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.899]launched[/link] on July 10th 2006.
