Fix Radio has signed England Rugby player and plumber Marlie Packer, OBE, to co-host its new podcast, Tackling the Trades with Marlie Packer and Steph Leese.
The podcast will explore the experiences of tradeswomen, covering topics such as workwear, balancing home and work life, pricing jobs, and the use of social media in the industry.
Marlie and Steph, the Pink Plasterer, will be joined by other tradeswomen to discuss the realities of working in trades, whether fitting bathrooms, rewiring buildings, or painting homes.
Marlie said she is pleased to join the Fix Radio team and looks forward to representing tradeswomen and leading conversations about the challenges they face.
Programme Director Andy Shier said Marlie’s involvement will help highlight the work of tradeswomen and encourage more women to consider careers in the trades.
The podcast will be released every two weeks and will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other major platforms from 11th September.
