Calrec is introducing its new Type RT digital console and Apex M6 modular I/O platform at IBC 2026, expanding its IP ecosystem for broadcasters.
Type RT is a compact, self-contained broadcast audio desk available in 6, 12, and 18-motorised fader versions. It is designed for a range of environments, including radio stations, sports venues, and podcast studios.
The console integrates DSP, control processing, I/O, monitoring, and USB audio connectivity, providing a straightforward entry point into Calrec’s IP ecosystem.
The unit is fanless for silent operation and can be deployed quickly in settings where space and budget are limited.
Each model offers the same capabilities and licensing options, allowing users to select the surface size that fits their needs without sacrificing performance.
Operators benefit from dedicated displays beneath each fader and a user-configurable control panel. Up to 138 assignable buttons and 24 rotary encoders are available, with support for remote production through True Control 2.0 and virtualised DSP via ImPulseV.
Apex M6, also launching at IBC 2026, is a 1U modular I/O platform supporting multiple audio formats, including ST2110-30, AES67, Dante, and MADI. It can be used independently of Calrec consoles, offering flexibility for broadcasters moving to IP or integrating mixed-format environments.
Calrec will also preview software enhancements for its Argo and ImPulseV platforms, aiming to give broadcasters more control over their infrastructure.
