NLive Radio has been named Local Radio Station of the Year 2026 for the East Midlands at the SME News Midlands Enterprise Awards.
The award recognises NLive Radio’s contribution to broadcasting, community engagement, local journalism, skills development, and support for Northamptonshire communities.
The Midlands Enterprise Awards celebrate organisations making a significant impact across the region, with SME News highlighting excellence, innovation, and community contributions.
Rebecca Steers, NLive Radio Station Manager, said the award is recognition for the volunteers, presenters, contributors, supporters, and listeners who make the station what it is.
Earlier this year, the station began moving to become an independent community organisation after more than a decade of funding from the University of Northampton, which has decided to focus its spending on educational delivery and the student experience
NLive Radio has launched a fundraising appeal to secure its future, by raising funds for new premises, equipment, licences, technology upgrades, and ongoing costs.
