Emily Maitlis will investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s connections to Britain in a new six episode podcast series from Global.
A Very British Epstein is scheduled to launch in 2027 and will examine Epstein’s time in the UK, beginning with his arrival during the 1980s.
The series will consider how he entered the worlds of shadow finance and Britain’s social elite, alongside the relationships which contributed to his network of money, status and influence.
Emily, who cohosts The News Agents, conducted the 2019 television interview with former Prince Andrew about his links to Epstein.
The podcast will question the accepted timeline of Epstein’s life in Britain and consider whether his early years in the country were more significant than previously understood.
It will feature interviews with survivors and conversations with people who encountered Epstein and members of his circle in Britain.
Emily said: “Much of the public understanding of Jeffrey Epstein focuses on the US and on the final years of his life. This series asks a different question: what happened in Britain, and how important was the UK to the story of how Epstein built his world, his influence and his connections?”
Vicky Etchells, Director of Podcasts at Global, said the investigation would examine how Epstein’s connections moved through wealth, privilege and power in the UK.
A Very British Epstein is being produced by Global Studios and Sonoloom. It will be available as a video podcast on YouTube and as an audio programme through Global Player and other podcast platforms.
