Radio Tyneside, the hospital broadcasting service for Newcastle and Gateshead has relaunched, with a new logo, programmes and jingles.
The station has also started broadcasting [link=http://www.radiotyneside.co.uk]online[/link], following requests from listeners, as Station Director Dave Nicholson MBE explained to RadioToday.co.uk: "For a long time now patients have asked us if they could listen to our station once they left hospital, now they can. Also it allows us to extend our service further into the hospital community by linking up with old peoples homes and sheltered accomodation."
Radio Tyneside has only recently moved into a purpose built 3 studio building thanks to the Newcastle upon Tyne Trust. It houses stae of the art technology built from the kind donations from many businesses and League of Friends in the region.
Dave added " We are a very lucky station to have got the support we have had."
