Emma Smyth is heading back to Absolute Radio to take over from Luke Moore as the network’s Head of Sponsorship.
She’ll take up the position later this month when she leaves her current role with online music streamer We7.
Emma was previously Promotions Account Manager at Absolute and its predecessor Virgin Radio and before that worked on brands including Kiss and Magic at Emap.
As a multi-award winner, Emma has scooped Mediaweek and several RAB Planners Choice Awards and is credited with developing an idea for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on Absolute Radio which resulted in one of the most talked about promotions in the industry. For this, Absolute Radio literally turned the station upside down for the day – disrupting the schedule – to reflect the key messages of the film.
Emma will report into Absolute Radio’s Branded Content Director Louise Simkins and her appointment follows news that Remy Kirk has been promoted to become Absolute Radio’s Advertising Director.
Louise Simkins said: “Emma is award-winning, with a wealth of experience, impressive thinking and a defined strategy for Absolute Radio’s Sponsorship proposition. Her vision will compliment the strong team we have in place here at Absolute Radio.”
