Absolute Radio hires Johnny Vaughan

Former Capital FM London breakfast presenter Johnny Vaughan is joining Absolute Radio.

He’ll host a daily show on the station for two weeks during the “summer celebrations” in London.

It’s his first regular work since his sudden departure from Capital FM last year, but there’s no news on whether he’ll be a permanant fixture at the station.

The show will feature interviews with famous comedians, musicians, presenters and sports people and broadcast live on Absolute Radio from 5pm till 7pm from July 27th. Links from the show will then air on all other Absolute stations along with the regular music of the channel from 6pm till 8pm.

Clive Dickens, Chief Operating Officer Absolute Radio commented on the signing, “Johnny is at the top of his game, and is without a doubt one of the best talents in radio. We are very excited about hearing him back on air, as I am sure will his many fans. He will further strengthen our stellar Faces for Radio line-up”.

Speaking on joining Absolute Radio, Johnny Vaughan said, “For two weeks this summer we’re celebrating the two greatest things Great Britain has given the world – sport and music. I’m really looking forward to celebrating both.”
