Adele wins Heart’s best song of all time

Make You Feel My Love has been named the UK’s number one song of all time by Heart listeners in their first ever Hall of Fame.

Over the last weeks, Heart has been asking listeners to choose their favourite song and since last Thursday, it has been counting down the top 500 tracks leading up to number one, which was revealed yesterday.

Make You Feel My Love was originally released in 2008 and is from Adele’s debut album, 19. To add to her success in Heart’s Hall of Fame, three more Adele songs feature in the top thirty alone, including Rolling in the Deep (number seven) and Someone Like You (number thirteen).

George Michael is the most featured artist in the Hall of Fame, with sixteen songs in total, either as solos, duets or as part of Wham!, followed by Michael Jackson with thirteen songs. Robbie Williams, who performed at Heart’s exclusive Love Music Live gig two years ago, has ten tracks in the Hall of Fame. Angels was voted the sixth favourite song of all time.

The most featured female artist is Madonna with nine songs, followed closely by Whitney Houston. Eight of her songs feature in the top 300, including I Have Nothing and I Will Always Love You at numbers eight and fifteen respectively. Take That has been voted the most popular band, confirming their place in the nation’s heart. Eleven of their songs made the Hall of Fame, including Never Forget (number two) and Greatest Day (number ten). Queen is in second place with ten songs, followed by Abba with nine.

nice to win with an old Bob Dylan song. And its a shame they don’t play any of the other versions – try Garth Brooks’ one
