Pure enters Freeview market with Avalon

DAB Digital Radio maker PURE has released its first set-top box and Freeview+ HD digital TV recorder.

puretvThe Pure Avalon 300R Connect also features BBC iPlayer and YouTube, along with Pure’s internet radio and music services.

The box does not contain the one chip Pure is famous for – the facility to pick up DAB – but it does include Wi-Fi for internet radio.

Colin Crawford, Pure’s director of marketing: “Entering the TV set top box market is a huge step for Pure, and we are delighted to be able to combine our award-winning audio heritage with parent company, Imagination Technologies’ market-leading PowerVR graphics to deliver the most engaging and attractive subscription-free TV viewing experience available.”

Boxes come in 500GB and 1TB versions and uses a ‘picture in picture’ feature whilst browsing the programme guide.
