Absolute Radio to air end of year comedy

Absolute Radio has signed David Schneider to host a one-off round-up of the year on Twitter.

‘The Top 5 Funniest And/Or Most Memorable Twitter Moments of the Year (2013)’ is co-written by David Levin and marks the first time the duo have collaborated on a radio project, following the recent launch of ‘That Lot’, their new digital content and social media agency.

David Schneider most recently appeared on I’m Alan Partridge’ as fictional BBC commissioning editor Tony Hayers. He also starred in ‘The Day Today’ and is an acclaimed writer, comedian and tweeter having amassed over 162,000 followers with his 140 character observations.

The show will round up the top five comedic Twitter moments of the year and will showcase stories about Luis Suarez, Pope Benedict, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and The Royals.

As well as the live radio feature, an online video version will be released simultaneously on Absolute Radio’s YouTube channel, which will be supported by a social media and digital marketing campaign including Promoted Tweets.

Absolute Radio Content Director Tony Moorey said “David Schneider and David Levin are two of the strongest voices on what is the fastest growing social network for our audience. Absolute Radio’s Twitter following has grown by 173% over the past twelve months, so what better way to round up the year”.

Host of the show, David Schneider said, “Oscars, Baftas, now we have the Top Five Funniest And/OR Most Memorable Twitter Moments of The Years (the TFFAOMMTWOTYers, as they’re known). It’s been fun putting them together, digging up the funniest tweets of the year and generally finding an excuse for all that time I’ve wasted on Twitter. I can now tell my family “It’s for a thing I’m doing for Absolute Radio”. Perfect!”

The Top 5 Funniest And/Or Most Memorable Twitter Moments of the Year (2013) will premiere on the Geoff Lloyd Hometime Show on Friday 20th December from 5pm. It will also broadcast on New Year’s Eve at 8am, repeated at 4pm and will be available to listen again online.
