Complete Control for Xtreme

Some of the hottest talents in new music are taking complete control of digital station Virgin Radio Xtreme, in a brand new feature called Complete Control

Every Monday evening will feature one hour of songs compiled by some of the biggest names in new music.

In the first programme, listeners will be able to tune in to hear 60 minutes of James Dean Bradfield’s favourite songs and key influences that have shaped his career. Other guests lined up for Complete Control include The Kooks, Flaming Lips, Maximo Park and The Zutons.

The guest slots will culminate in a “There's Nothing Good on Telly Complete Control Christmas Special” with Virgin Radio Xtreme’s own new music authority, DJ Steve Harris on Christmas Day.

This is the latest investment into Virgin Radio Xtreme by owners SMG, who launcheded the station in September 2005. The station already has 83,000 listeners and is available on DAB Digital Radio Sky Digital and the cable networks.

“Virgin Radio Xtreme is all about playing the best in credible new music to young, cutting-edge music fans,” said Paul Jackson, Programme Director at Virgin Radio. “Complete Control is another way that we’re bringing listeners even closer to the music and bands they love. Some of the tracks that these stars will be playing will be real eye openers on their influences and tastes.”

Complete Control starts at 10pm on October 30th.
