Talk 107 changes breakfast

Listener-shy Edinburgh station Talk 107 is changing its breakfast show in a bid to encourage more people to tune in.

Founding presenter Alex Bell's leaving the morning show, and will be replaced by former Forth DJ Scott Wilson.

UTV-owned Talk 107 last week reported an increase in listeners in the latest RAJAR figures – up from 16,000 to 23,000 per week. That still only represents 2% of the available audience.

Wilson is taking over the breakfast show, alongside Susan Morrison, from Monday 13th November and told RadioToday: "After years of having done pretty much everything I could do in conventional music radio I am relishing the challenge with talk107 in a completely new speech-led format. It’s tremendously exciting to join the team at the cutting edge of developing this proven successful speech format in a brand new market in central Scotland."

Talk 107's Programme Director Colin Paterson said: “Scott’s reputation goes before him. His knowledge and pride for the region is second to none. Together with Susan Morrison’s uniquely irreverent perspective on life, our new breakfast show with Scott will keep people informed, but most of all, entertained.”
