Comedy duo join The Revolution

Manchester funnymen Steve Coogan and John Thompson are reuniting for a one-off Christmas special on Oldham radio station The Revolution. The pair met at drama school and have been mates ever since, although they've not worked together, until now, for 10 years.

John famously played Fat Bob to Steve's Paul and Pauline Calf, and also appeared alongside Steve as 'comic' entertainer Joe Beazley (with his cheeky monkey) in Knowing Me, Knowing You With Alan Partridge.

Steve and John are broadcasting their special show on Christmas Day from 10am on 96.2 The Revolution.

Coogan also says plans for a film starring "Radio Norwich" legend Alan Partridge are still in the pipeline.

He told the [link=http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/]MEN[/link]: "I know there's a demand for it, and I will do something with him at some point, but it's a double-edged sword. I do love the character but I've got to move on and do different things as well."
