New GCap Media digital-only station theJazz is now testing via Sky channel 0113 and NTL cable, on the channel previously used by Century Digital. The station is also available on DAB, broadcasting at 96Kbps in mono via the nationwide Digital One multiplex.
Two other mono services on the Digital One network have dropped bit-rate to 80Kbps to allow for the new station.
On Sky, the EPG information is showing as "theJazz" but no listings are available, and the channel is currently silent, although previously bursts of electronic noises were heard, along with an announcer informing listeners that "theJazz" will launch on Christmas Day at 9am.
