Ofcom are inviting applications to run a new DAB multiplex for Herts, Beds and Bucks. The service will also cover the unitary authorities of Luton and Milton Keynes. It's the first in a series of new multiplexes being created to advance the spread of digital radio around the country.
The 12-year licence will include space for BBC Three Counties Radio, and applications must be in to Ofcom by 13 March 2007 along with a non-refundable £15,000.
It's estimated the new multiplex will serve an area with a population of 1.8 million people.
