Jack hires Burke from Juice

Jack FM, the new radio station for Oxfordshire has hired the first person to join the current affairs and music based Breakfast Show. Journalist and news anchor Greg Burke will leave the breakfast team at Juice FM Liverpool to take up the position later this year.

Ian Walker, JACK fm Oxfordshire General Manager, comments: “Greg has an outstanding ability to collate and communicate local and national news and content. He is the first member of the new Breakfast team for JACK fm and will contribute to Jack’s current affairs and music based Breakfast Show."

Greg's news excellence was recently recognised at the 2006 New York Radio Awards. His special reports from Ethiopia on making poverty history won an award in the Best Social Issues/Current Events category. He was also nominated for his work looking at binge-drinking in Liverpool, a series of packages entitled 'What Are You Getting Into?' and at last year’s Radio Academy PAMS awards for his Live 8 coverage.

Greg Burke comments: “I am thrilled to be re-united with the Absolute Radio team at what promises to be one of the most exciting new radio launches of 2007 — JACK fm Oxfordshire."

JACK fm Oxfordshire is the first Jack outside of North America and launches in the Spring. Absolute Radio has also recently submitted a bid for another JACK fm to serve Manchester.
