Kathleen Saxton, strategy director of Virgin Radio is the latest departure from the station as merger talks between UTV and Virgin-owner SMG draw to a close. Saxton has been at the station for 18 months, and leaves after chief executive Fru Hazlitt quiz just one month.
Saxton had been in charge of the station's strategy since stepping into the new role in September 2005. She was one of the first senior appointments under Hazlitt and reported directly to the CEO.
She is a former marketing director of Saatchi & Saatchi, and now plans to set up her own recruitment company in London.
