BCI allows UCB expansion

The BCI has announced the signing of a three year contract with United Christian Broadcasters for the provision of a satellite radio service, which will be available on the Sky digital platform in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, the United Kingdom and Western Europe.

UCB Ireland will be a dedicated Christian radio service, which will give an Irish perspective of news, issues and life in Ireland. Programmes will have an interdenominational focus and the primary target audience will be 25-55 year olds. The service will broadcast 24/7 from January 2008.

Speaking in relation to the announcement, Conor J. Maguire, BCI Chairperson said, “I would like to congratulate United Christian Broadcasters (Ireland) Limited on their contract signing and to wish all concerned every success over the next three years.”

Peter Bradshaw and Richard Willoughby, Directors, signed the contract on behalf of United Christian Broadcasters (Ireland) Limited. Conor Maguire, Chairperson and Celene Craig, Secretary to the Board of the BCI, signed on behalf of the Commission
