One horse race for Yorkshire

Ofcom has received just one application for the North Yorkshire local DAB digital radio multiplex licence. Sole contender MuxCo is 60 per cent owned by The Local Radio Company, and would see their stations go on to the digital platform for the first time.

In addition, long-time medium wave station Fresh Radio would be given a new lease of life on the digital platform to compliment their recent part-move to FM. THe line up, in full, would be Minster FM, Stray FM, YCR, Fresh Radio, Easy Radio, Traffic Radio and BBC Radio York.

MuxCo North Yorkshire also proposes to provide "a wide selection of podcasts provided by a range of companies".
