Andy Carter has become the new managing director of GMG Radio in the north west of England, where he will oversee Smooth Radio and Century Radio.
Andy was managing director of Real Radio in Cardiff and Smooth Radio in the West Midlands before his move to the north west. He also oversaw the re-launch of the group’s London station to Smooth Radio throughout 2007.
Following Andy’s move Tony Dowling will become Station Director of Real Radio Wales and Jane Davis will take up the same role at Smooth Radio in the West Midlands.
Jane joins the station on January 7th from BRMB as Station Director and Tony has been Sales Director at Real Radio since 2001.
GMG Radio Chief Executive John Myers said: “Andy is one of our most experienced and successful MDs and is well placed to ensure our stations in the north-west reach their full potential.”
