Four still going for Five Live

Radio Today has learnt that there are still four candidates for the position of BBC Radio 5 Live Controller, despite nearly three months passing since the resignation of previous controller Bob Shennan.

The deputy director of news Adrian van Klaveren, BBC London executive Mike MacFarlane and former Radio 5 Live deputy controller Steve Kyte are thought to be the three internal candidates.
The fourth is believed to be commercial radio executive who has significant experience of national music and speech formats having managed at both Virgin Radio and Talk Radio.
The cause of indecision over a successor to Shennan, who stepped down in December to join the 4 Digital group, is unknown.
