Citybeat finds new stars

The Citybeat Young Star Search 2008 has concluded in a live outside broadcast in a Belfast shopping centre. Thousands of fans were heard screaming as the final show went live.

Belfast singer Brian Kennedy was joined by international DJ and music producer Micky Modelle and top European dance act Jessy to cast their votes for the top singers in the junior and senior categories.
Stuart Robinson, creator and presenter of the Young Star Search said he was impressed by the standard of young people in the competition this year. He said: "While I'm relieved it's all over I'm extremely happy that we've found two really good winners and thankfully once again talent has prevailed and the public and judges have made the right decision".
The winners were 12-year-old Rachel Pearson from Dungannon and 16-year-old Caitlin McClurg from Bangor who were crowned junior and senior winners.
