More hours for TLRC stations

Most local radio stations operated by TLRC have seen a slight increase in listening hours, giving the group an overall lift in total listening hours by three per cent.

And although some stations have lost listeners in the last three months, Q2 RAJAR figures show an overall 788,000 listeners per week from its 21 continuing stations compared to 795,000 in the previous quarter.
Total listening hours in the quarter rose to 6.77 million compared to 6.59 million in the first quarter of 2008.
Commenting on the figures, Richard Wheatly, Executive Chairman of TLRC said: 'We have once again increased total listening across our network of stations.
'I am particularly pleased that whilst our stations continue to win audience share we are also being recognised for the high quality of our output. Two of our stations, Silk FM and Stray FM, were recently named the Sony Small Station of the Year and the Arqiva Small Station of the Year respectively, the second year in succession we have won both of these prestigious awards.'
