Bacon bags the election on 5Live

Richard Bacon will be at the forefront of BBC Radio 5 Live's coverage of the US elections in November, as the station splits from Radio 4 to provide its own programmes.

Bacon, former presenter on XFM, Capital 95.8 and BBC7, will be reporting on US election night, the 4th of November, from inside Democratic candidate Barack Obama's Chicago HQ.
Last time the station covered the US elections in 2004, it shared coverage with BBC Radio 4 in a programme co-hosted by Jim Naughtie and Julian Worricker.
The seven-hour election night programme will run from 11pm and will also include anchors John Pienaar, Lesley Ashmall and Rhod Sharp.
