Sky Atlantic OB for Absolute

Absolute Radio's afternoon drivetime show is taking four of the station's listeners to New York for a week of live programmes from the Big Apple, to promote new TV channel Sky Atlantic HD.

The hook-up with the satellite broadcaster for the launch of the new service follows a similar deal for Absolute Radio to promote Sky 3D last year.

The team from the Geoff Lloyd Hometime show will broadcast live from New York for one week from next Monday (31st January). Listeners will play head-to-head on air from this Friday until next Wednesday, with a daily winner packing their bags to join Geoff in the US.

Next Friday the four finalists will then compete against each other live from New York to win an extended stay in America, including a VIP experience in New York and a weekend in Atlantic City.

Sky’s new channel, which will screen HBO programmes such as ‘Mad Men’ and the upcoming ‘Boardwalk Empire’, will go live on 1 February making New York City (the home of HBO) the perfect backdrop for the week-long competition.
