Absolute Radio’s advertising director Paul Carolan is to leave the station after accepting a job at outdoor media advertising firm JCDecaux.
Carolan – who’s previously worked at BBC Worldwide, talkSPORT, Classic FM and Capital FM – only joined Absolute nine months ago after leaving Microsoft. At Absolute Radio he was responsible for all on-air, online and event-based sales.
Writing on the One Golden Square blog, Absolute’s Commercial Director Chris Goldson said: It’s a massively exciting job for Paul, with much weight and responsibility in the industry, and one that will definitely take his talents on to another level. Needless to say, we’re going to miss him massively… he’s had a major impact on our business, has been a guiding hand in shaping our sales strategy, and is just an all-round wonderful colleague and friend. Ironically, though, we’re better able to cope without him because we’ve had him here working with us – we’re in good shape. And the good news is that Paul’s leaving radio, so we don’t have to sell against him!”
