Aylesbury-based UKRD radio station Mix 96 is to become ‘Little Mix 96’ for the day this Friday as it gets behind X Factor finalists Little Mix.
One member of the girl group, Leigh-An Pinnock, is from the station’s patch in Buckinghamshire.
We’re told the station will change all of its production for the day and presenters will also ID the station as Little Mix 96 to encourage local people to support the first girl band in the X Factor’s history to get to the final.
Mix 96 Programme Controller, Darren Scott told RadioToday.co.uk: “It gives us great pleasure to be able to back the best act in the competition by naming the radio station after them and the fact that one of them is a local girl makes it even more worthwhile. It’s true our signal is perhaps a bit patchy in High Wycombe but let’s not let the facts ruin a good stunt.”
The rebrand happens from 6am on Friday 9th December.
