BBC Radio 5 Live has commissioned Wise Buddah to produce a live three-hour Christmas Day special.
The programme will celebrate the work of a children’s home in Greater Manchester from 10am on Sunday 25th December.
Commissioned by deputy controller and commissioning editor of 5 Live Jonathan Wall, ‘Children’s Home At Christmas’ will see presenter Sam Walker join in with the home’s festivities and talk to the children, their families and their carers as they share stories about the year just gone and reveal what lies ahead for 2012.
“Broadcasting live on Christmas Day is really exciting for the whole team,” said Wise Buddah producer Jo Meek. “We’ll be sharing inspiring stories of children in care and some familiar names from showbiz, sport and politics will share their own stories of what it was like for them being in care at Christmas.”
‘Children’s Home At Christmas’ will also include some of Radio 5 Live’s own highlights from the past year.
The show is the latest commission for Wise Buddah following a deal with BBC 6 Music to make the Weekend Breakfast Show with Nemone.
Jo Meek will be the producer, Simon Willis will executive produce.
