Deputy Programme Director of Bauer Media’s Key 103, Chris Rick, has been appointed as Programme Director of Rock FM in Lancashire.
The appointment comes as Rock FM and sister station Magic 999 celebrate their 30th birthday.
The first show was broadcast 1982 with Dave Lincoln – he made the first ever live link and played the stations first track by Barbara Streisand.
This week breakfast presenters Hywel & Jamie are broadcasting the show to listeners live from Las Vegas, as part of the birthday celebrations. New Programme Director Chris Rick comes from Key 103 where he has spent the last couple of years as Deputy PD. Before that he was PD at TFM Radio. He replaces Dean O’Brien who left in the summer.
Chris told RadioToday.co.uk: “I’m thrilled to join such a talented team – and I can’t think of a better time to join Rock FM as it celebrates its 30th birthday. It does mean the precedent has been set for cake every week though!”
