The Absolute Radio Network has reached a record high of 3.3millions listeners, with the main Absolute Radio station also up to its highest in 4 years.
Absolute Radio now has 1.8million listeners, compared with 1.5million three months ago.
Breakfast presenter Christian O’Connell has added 228,000 listeners, with a bigger market share in London than BBC Radio 1, Heart London, Magic 105.4 and Kiss 100 in the 6-10am slot, behind Capital.
Absolute Radio 90s, Absolute 80s and Absolute Radio 00s all posted increases in audiences Year on Year, with Absolute Radio 90s posting its best ever listening figures at 436,000, up 25% year on year.
Absolute Radio 60s and Absolute Radio 70s went down in weekly reach.
75.9 of all listening to the network is also done via a digital platform, compared with an industry average of 33.0%.
Absolute Radio Chief Operating Officer, Clive Dickens commented, “The Absolute Radio Network and Absolute Radio main station have both significantly grown Quarter on Quarter and Year on Year to an eleven year high. This is fantastic growth as we begin our fifth year and puts the business in great shape for 2013.”
Absolute Radio is currently up for sale by its parent company, with reports suggesting a deal with Bauer Media is almost complete.
