Ofcom has re-awarded the FM local commercial radio licence for Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead to Time 106.6 owner Tristar Broadcasting Ltd.
The station had to re-apply for its licence after local community radio group Asian Star put in a declaration of intent to apply, sparking a full re-advertisement process by Ofcom.
The regulator said: “After giving careful consideration of the two applications submitted, Ofcom has awarded the licence to the incumbent licensee.”
Paul Owens, Programme Director of Time 106.6 told RadioToday.co.uk: “Thank you for all your loyal dedication and support over the years – here’s to the next seven years” .

Time 106.6′s proposed format is for a “locally-focused radio station designed to appeal to a broad range of adult listeners, particularly those aged 25-64.”
Asian Star said it would offer “a unique service primarily for the Asian communities of the Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead areas. The group said it would hand back its community radio licence to operate the commercial service.
