Former player to commentate for Tower FM

UTV’s station for Bolton and Bury Tower FM has signed up former Bolton striker Kevin Davies to commentate on their live coverage of Bolton’s matches.

The footballer will make his Tower FM debut commentating on Bolton v Derby County tonight (17 Sept), after another player, John McGinlay, hosts his new weekly pre-match programme ‘Super John at 1.’

Davies currently plays at Preston North End but will be teaming up with Tower FM’s commentary team when his playing commitments allow.

John McGinlay’s programme can be heard every Saturday at 1pm, when the Scot gives his opinion on the team’s performance and chats to some of his former teammates and managers.

Between them, the pair made almost 550 appearances for Bolton and scored over 160 goals.

Tower FM’s sports producer Chris Milow said: “To have two Bolton legends like John and Kev working with us is fantastic and helps us to develop our already unrivalled coverage and analysis of the club.”
