Magaluf Weekender star Imogen Townley is joining the new Juice FM breakfast show, and the station has created a video to soundtrack of Pharrell Williams’ Happy song to promote it.
The show, named The Juice FM Big Breakfast, will feature Adam Weighell, Gemma Cutting and Chris Chambers and features new jingles from Music4. The new team has been created after the departure of previous co-host Leanne Campbell who quit to join a new breakfast show on Radio City.
A special promo video has been uploaded to YouTube and eagle-eyed international radio fans will notice a similarity to the recent launch promo video for 2DayFM’s new breakfast show featuring Mel B. The video has since been removed from YouTube though.
Imogen said: “Like most scousers, me and all my mates have listened to Juice FM for years, so to now be part of the team is surreal. I’ve had so much fun preparing for the show, and I can’t wait to have a giggle every morning.”
Adam Weighell, who started on the breakfast show in 2008, said: “I’m going to have my hands full! Gemma’s already been keeping me in line for a few months, and Imogen is just nuts! It’s going to be so much fun and I can’t wait.”
The new show starts on February 24th at 6am, just weeks before a new show is announced and launched at Radio City. Gemma Cutting said: “Adam’s not going to know what’s hit him, it’s great to have an ally and it will be like having a naughty younger sister on the show.”
Station Director, Graham Sarath, said: “We’ve been working on the show since Christmas and it’s so exciting hearing it all come together. Adam and Gemma have been doing a great job and the latest audience figures have grown by 11 percent. Adding a bubbly, young scouser just completes the package.”
A complete ‘Juice FM BIG Breakfast’ music ident and package has been commissioned by Music4 and MD, Sandy Beech, said: “This is the most fun we’ve had working on a breakfast show’s production in a long time and it’s great to work on what we believe will be the biggest Breakfast show in Liverpool.”
