Celador to buy Fire Radio in Bournemouth

Fire Radio in Bournemouth has been sold by owners Triple Media Communications Group to Celador Radio, RadioToday understands.
Paul Smith CBE, Chairman of Celador Radio, recently said he was keen to grow the company and make it the biggest owner of local radio in the South.
Sources tell RadioToday that the dance music station, which was based at The Picture House near Bournemouth Town Centre, is already operating from Celador’s studio based in Southampton, home of JACK fm and The Breeze network. Branding outside Fire’s street-front address has already been removed.
Fire Radio was launched in 1999 as NRG by founding Directors James Bromley and David Harber but the station changed name shortly afterwards following a complaint by French broadcaster NRJ. It was sold to Radio Investments in 2001 then again to Westward Broadcasting/Triple Media in 2009.
We’ll bring you more details as soon as we can confirm them.
