Ed Doolan talks about battling dementia on BBC WM

BBC WM radio legend Ed Doolan MBE has revealed he has been battling dementia for two years.

Speaking on BBC WM to Caroline Martin, 73 year old Ed talked for the first time about living with Dementia.

In an honest and brave interview he is joined by his wife Christine to explain how his life has changed. He explains how he’s spent his entire life communicating and suddenly he finds he can no longer communicate.

Ed moved from Breakfast on BBC WM in 2008 then cut his hours down in 2011 moving to two shows a week. Australian-born Ed moved to Birmingham in 1974 and after 8 years at BRMB, joined BBC WM for the hour-long lunchtime programme, which was repeated in the evening. He then did a stint on the breakfast show before moving to mid-mornings.
