Mike Read missed half an hour of his Saturday breakfast show this weekend after getting stuck in a lift at One Golden Square.
He went for a cup of tea around 6am but didn’t make it to air till after 7.30 due to the ordeal. His show started at 7am and contained only music and adverts till he appeared.
Spent the last hour stuck in the tiny @greatesthitsuk lift. Bravo the fire brigade who freed me. Mind you I had to climb up the lift shaft!

Mike pressed the emergency alarm, but was told he would have to wait three hours to be rescued because the nearest engineer was several miles away.
He should have been broadcasting to the North of England via the Greatest Hits network, from Bauer’s radio home in London.
One Golden Square has had its fair share of problems recently, with some of the stations based there – including Absolute Radio, Magic, Planet Rock and heat Radio being unavailable in December after a power cut, and KISS continued to have problem problems at its studio in the basement.
When he made it to air, Mike said: “Good morning, missed the first half hour of the programme, I was here half an hour early but I’ve been in a lift for the last hour just kinda stuck really.
“I had to climb out the lift shaft just as the air was running out,” he said.
Big thanks to the #fireBrigade saving me a further 3 hours in the lift & freeing me from one-man community singing pic.twitter.com/UuBNj6SlGa
