Orion Media is continuing its partnership with the Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) for its annual live music concert in Birmingham.
This year’s line-up is yet to be unveiled, but previous acts have included Ed Sheeran, Olly Murs, Nicole Scherzinger, McBusted, The Saturdays, JLS and Little Mix.
The partnership, now in its third year, will offer 200 students at BOA – a specialist creative, digital and performing arts academy based in Birmingham – the opportunity to perform at the event or secure work placements with Free Radio. They will have the chance to work behind the scenes at the concert or to help with its organisation.
Adrian Serle, Orion Media’s Chief Executive said: “Free Radio Live is one of the most highly anticipated music events across the Midlands each year, and this joint collaboration highlights our drive to deliver a truly integrated partnership.
“This event delivers exceptional coverage, true partner integration, and a creative and flexible way for BOA to showcase its most prized assets – their students.”
Students will be invited to audition or submit written applications for other roles working alongside radio DJs, producers, the marketing team or as runners at the event.
Last year, a group of BOA students opened the show on the main stage performing a dance routine in front of 15,000 and other students performed on various stages around the venue before the main arena opened.
Free Radio Live 2015 is taking place for the sixth year running at the Genting Arena on November 28.
