Radio Academy awards four new Fellowships
Steve Parkinson, Alison Winter, Jimmy Buckland and John Dash have been honoured with Radio Academy Fellowships.
The four were recognised in front of their colleagues on the final day of the Radio Festival, which took place at the British Library.
Steve Parkinson, Group Managing Director of National Radio, Bauer Media has been responsible for the rise of the Magic and Kiss brands and celebrates 10 years at the company after joining as Marketing Director in 2005.
Alison Winter is Head of Audiences, Radio & Music and Acting Head of Audiences, Digital at BBC, where she has worked since 2009.
Jimmy Buckland, Director of Strategy at UTV Media and a Trustee of the Radio Academy, has worked over recent years to build talkSPORT into a global sports audio brand, and oversees communications and strategy for 13 local radio stations, UTV’s DAB digital radio arm as well as their print offering, Sport magazine.
John Dash, owner of John Dash Media and Chariman of the Yorkshire branch of the Radio Academy, has worked in radio for 25 years, and has been Programme Director at Radio Clyde, Regional Content Director at Bauer Yorkshire, and Programme Director at Piccadilly Radio and Galaxy 101.
Dee Ford presented Steve Parkinson’s award, Chris Burns to Jimmy Buckland, Helen Boaden to Alison Winter and Roger Cutsforth to John Dash. The recipients have been specially selected by the Radio Academy for their work and contribution to the world of radio.
