Lemar was one of the special guests at the recent Spirit FM Local Hero Awards in Sussex.
The singer performed three songs at the ceremony on the same day his new album ‘The Letter’ was released, and gave a helping hand presenting the Child of Achieving award on the night.
A minutes silence was also observed for each of the victims and their families of the Shoreham Air Disaster. The event has also raised over £35,000 for local charities since it began in 2006.
Spirit FM’s 9th annual awards were hosted by Stuart McGinley and Kate Goddard, honouring the inspirational people who are the true local heroes of West Sussex.
Spirit FM’s Managing Director Sally Austin said: “An event like the Spirit FM Local Hero Awards epitomises what true local radio should be about. It was an absolute honour to be able to recognise some of the amazing people that live in our area. It’s my favourite night in the Spirit FM calendar and I cannot wait for next year’s 10th anniversary awards.”
