Radio Ulster to hold concert for 40th birthday

BBC Radio Ulster’s 40th birthday celebrations will culminate in a special gala concert live from the Ulster Hall in Belfast.

The listener event on Monday 14 December will be presented by John Toal and Wendy Austin (pictured above) who will introduce a host of names from the worlds of music, arts, comedy, sport and news, together with the Ulster Orchestra.

The two-and-a-half hour gala concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Ulster.

Fergus Keeling, BBC Northern Ireland’s Head of Radio, says: “We have really enjoyed sharing our birthday year with our listeners and we’re delighted to be able to bring these celebrations to a conclusion with what promises to be a truly magical night in the Ulster Hall.”

Tickets to BBC Radio Ulster’s 40th Birthday Gala Concert are complimentary and will be allocated following a random draw. Ticket applications to this event can be made from today Tuesday 17 November at 9am until Monday 23 November at 5pm.
