Darren Henley made #arqivas Chair of Judges

Former Classic FM Managing Director Darren Henley OBE will be Chair of Judges for the 2016 Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards.

Darren is now the Chief Executive of Arts Council England, having left radio last year after 22 years in the industry.

He began his commercial radio career st Invicta in 1989 and he joined Classic FM shortly after the station’s launch in 1992. He worked there for 23 years, the last 15 years as Managing Editor and then Managing Director.

During his time at Classic FM, Henley picked up four Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards, including Commercial Radio Programmer of the Year, the Chairman’s Award, Station of the Year and the Gold Award.

The Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2016 open for entries on 6 January 2016 and will include some new categories.
