Rob Charles departs The Bee Breakfast show

Rob, who has previous worked at Rock FM, Century and Magic says he’s decided to step down from the show due to personal reasons.

This year, Rob lost his dad which is going to an inquest and he is also dealing with the affairs of his mum who is suffering from dementia.

The Bee’s Managing Director Simon Brierley told RadioToday: “We would like to thank him for his loyal service and wish him well in the future.”

Rob will take time out before decided if he will return to radio – which he’s worked in for almost 30 years. Most recently, he’s been the Voice of ‘Mike’ the Breakfast Presenter on Peter Kay’s BBC 1 TV Show, Car Share.

The Bee broadcasts on 96.3, 106.5 and 107 FM to Preston, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn and Darwen in Central and East Lancashire. A replacement will be announced in due course.
